1Does it need the app?

5What about accents and slang?
With clear speech it does well, and most people abroad speak clearly to a visitor who is obviously trying.
Like any translator, it can miss heavy slang, a thick regional accent, or someone mumbling over loud music; when that happens, ask them to say it again. We would rather tell you that now than pretend otherwise.
